Community Impact & Social Research Specialist
I work as the Community Impact & Social Research Specialist at Odonaterra. I have 9 years of experience in research, stakeholder engagement, and knowledge synthesis and communication across fields related to sustainable development. This includes climate change adaptation and mitigation, biodiversity conservation, and digitalization.
I hold a MSc in Environment and Resource Management from VU University Amsterdam in the Netherlands and a BSc in Environmental Sciences from the University of Southampton in the United Kingdom.
Prior to joining Odonaterra, I worked as a Research Associate at Sustainability in the Digital Age as well as a Science Officer at Future Earth. In these roles, I conducted research and stakeholder workshops to explore the ways in which digital technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence, are impacting social and environmental systems and how we can mitigate risks and advance sustainable digital solutions for people and the planet. I also contributed to academic publications and policy reports on the topics of climate science and sustainable digitalization. Additionally, I have experience working as a Sustainability Strategy Consultant and I recently obtained the Fundamentals of Sustainability Accounting (FSA) Credential (Level II), issued by the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Foundation.
My work experience also extends to Sri Lanka, my home country, where I supported various projects focusing on disaster risk reduction, biodiversity conservation, and climate change resilience.
I currently live in Tiohtià:ke/Montréal and respectfully acknowledge that these are unceded Indigenous lands of the Kanien’kehá:ka Nation.
